Mavs to offer COVID-19 vaccines at playoff games

Dallas Mavericks to host vaccination events at upcoming playoff games

Team aims to increase vaccine accessibility and boost community health

The Dallas Mavericks are partnering with local health officials to offer COVID-19 vaccination events at upcoming playoff games, the team announced Wednesday.

The events will be held at the American Airlines Center before Games 2 and 4 of the Western Conference semifinals, which begin Saturday against the Phoenix Suns.

Fans who receive a vaccine at the event will receive a free ticket to that night's game, as well as a Mavs-themed mask and other giveaways.

"We are excited to partner with the Dallas County Health Department to offer COVID-19 vaccinations at our upcoming playoff games," said Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall. "We believe that this is a great way to increase vaccine accessibility and boost community health."

The Mavericks are the latest NBA team to offer COVID-19 vaccines at their games. The Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings have also hosted similar events.

The NBA has been a strong advocate for COVID-19 vaccination, and the league has required all players and staff to be vaccinated in order to participate in the 2021-22 season.
