The Carter Center is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization founded in 1982 by former US President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn Carter.

The Center is guided by the principles of human rights and the alleviation of human suffering. It works in partnership with Emory University to address a wide range of global issues, including conflict resolution, disease eradication, and election monitoring.

The Carter Center has helped to improve life for people in more than 80 countries, and its work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Nobel Peace Prize.
